“I am your great great aunt, and don’t you forget it!” Stella memorably said to our children over lunch last year! Auntie Stella was the most amazing ‘people person’ – she was far more interested in the individual than anything else – she was fascinated by what made them tick, their opinions and why. She always thought of others first and was immensely grateful for what she had and she wanted the best for everyone, especially the young and the disadvantaged; a life-long teacher. Stella retained her spark and quest for knowledge throughout her whole life whether by learning new poems during lockdown or taking up genealogy in the recent months. All our lives are richer for having Stella’s presence, opinions, insight and humour. We will miss her enormously and we won’t forget her.
